Beer money, Jacobean architecture and Oakville. What do these all have in common? They are all essential elements that make up one of Canada’s most expensive homes, just listed for $65 million by Christopher Invidiata, from RE/MAX Aboutowne Realty Corp.

Chelster Hall was built in 2001, along Oakville’s “Gold Coast”, occupying 10 acres of land and spanning 47,000 square feet. The property also hosts a chapel, gatehouse, underground garage and a lakeside pavillion with pool and tennis courts.  Hugo Power, former president of Labatt Brewing Co. Ltd. and the owner, was inspired by Bickling Hall in Norfolk, and wanted to create a timeless home that will stand for centuries.

Christopher Invidiata, the agent for the sale, believes Summer is the best time to sell as many high-end buyers often have more time to explore properties during these months. As for who the end-buyer will be, the current owner see’s it span anywhere from another family, to even a private school or corporate retreat.
