Basement Makeover Contest: The Big Reveal

The RE/MAX Yes In Your House Contest, in partnership with NBA Canada, brought an amazing “game night” space to life for one lucky winner in Belleville, Ontario. This family-friendly basement makeover is the perfect place to watch the game, lounge like a VIP, or grab a cocktail in the bar!

As the official real estate agents of the NBA, RE/MAX held a contest to elevate the in-home game-viewing experience, with what you might call “the ultimate assist.” Top Canadian designer Amanda Aerin, who describes her work as “traditional with a twist,” was tasked with the $48,000 makeover.

Together with the homeowners’ input, the basement makeover involved dividing the open-concept space into three distinct zones, to make the most of every inch of space. Included is a dedicated game-watching zone, a lounge zone and a bar zone, all brought to life through the use of paint colours, comfortable furnishings and basketball-inspired art to slam dunk the design. This design scored mega points for its blue accent wall, lending the space a luxe look to enjoy NBA basketball games!
