Entering the Toronto real estate market can feel like you’re going into battle, and in fact. Regardless of the market challenges, savvy homebuyers in this market are on the look-out for emerging neighbourhoods in Toronto, or perhaps just outside of it, where homes can be bought for a deal. Sometimes that means considering neighbourhoods that may not have reached “prime” status yet, but are on an upward trajectory.

In the search for Canada’s upcoming housing hotspots, REMAX Canada’s Next Neighbourhoods Report series explores hidden gems in the Greater Toronto and Greater Vancouver areas, and reveals some areas that are experiencing population growth, infrastructure investment, and a boost in desirability and affordability.

With increased housing options – including condominiums and planned developments, this swell in supply as well as improved transit access through communities, helps to make previously overlooked or emerging communities more affordable.

For those who are looking to make a move without breaking the bank, or you’re just curious about where homebuyers in and around the city are headed, here are some “next neighbourhoods” that you should keep an eye on now.

Affordable Homes for Sale in and Around Toronto

Toronto – like other parts of Canada – is experiencing a population boom, and with that come other developments such as new housing and new transit – more busses, trains and subways, the Eglinton Crosstown and Ontario Line, improving connectivity, housing supply and affordability for buyers looking to stay in the area. These established communities have historically been overlooked, but are now gaining new traction as emerging neighbourhoods in Toronto.
